SIX launches open banking platform "b.Link" for standardized data exchange between financial institutions and third-party providers

With the open banking platform “b.Link”, SIX is creating the basis for innovative partnerships between financial institutions and third-party providers. In a first step, providers of accounting solutions in Switzerland can connect to financial institutions via the standardized b.Link interfaces. The first participants include KLARA as well as Credit Suisse, Neue Aargauer Bank and UBS. SIX operates b.Link as an open platform and plans to continuously increase the number of participating financial institutions and third-party providers and the number of applications.

Homburger advised SIX on the creation of an innovative contractual framework as well as on legal and regulatory aspects. The Homburger team included partners Stefan Kramer and Benedikt Maurenbrecher (both Financial Market Regulation as well as Technology and Digital Economy), Marcel Dietrich and Richard Stäuber (both Competition) and Luca Dal Molin (Data Protection as well as Technology and Digital Economy).
