Markus Wirth is new member of the ICC International Court of Arbitration

Markus Wirth, partner of Homburger’s Litigation / Arbitration practice team, has been named one of 41 new members to the ICC International Court of Arbitration in Paris. The ICC World Council made the appointments at its meeting in Kuala Lumpur on June 11, 2009, on the occasion of the ICC World Chambers Federation Congress in Malaysia.In its new term, which has begun on July 1, 2009, the Court has a total number of 125 members from 86 countries. Markus Wirth will be representing Switzerland on the Court for a three-year term.The ICC International Court of Arbitration is the leading body in international commercial arbitration. Founded to resolve business disputes of an international character, its strict impartiality and effectiveness are recognized worldwide. The Court’s workload has been growing rapidly during the past several years, as countless business contracts, including many where one party is a government body, now refer to the ICC Rules of Arbitration.http://www.iccarbitration.org
