Homburger represents Visa in the investigation of the Competition Commission into debit interchange fees

On June 29, 2023, the Competition Commission announced that it opens an investigation into Visa’s domestic interchange fees for debit cards. ComCo had previously agreed with Visa on an interchange fee for the introductory phase of debit cards. Now that this phase is over, Visa has lowered its interchange fees effective July 1, 2023. ComCo intends to find long-term solutions for the interchange fees.
