Homburger advises Axel Springer on the sale of its shares in the joint venture Ringier Axel Springer Media to Ringier

On July 28, 2021, Axel Springer, a media and technology company active in more than 40 countries, announced that Ringier was acquiring its shares in the joint venture Ringier Axel Springer Media with subsidiaries in Estonia, Hungary, Latvia, Lithuania, Serbia and Slovakia. The successful joint venture between Axel Springer und Ringier in Poland will remain unchanged. Axel Springer aims to become a global market leader in digital content and digital classifieds and will focus on the digital business in major strategic markets, including Germany, the US and Poland. The transaction is expected to close in the second half of 2021. Completion of the transaction is subject to applicable regulatory approvals and the satisfaction of other closing conditions.
