Turkey and Switzerland have a long-standing tradition of close economic cooperation. The Turkey focus group stands ready to advise and represent clients effectively on all cross-border issues.
Economic exchange between Switzerland and Turkey traditionally plays an important role for both countries. The new double taxation treaty which entered into effect on January 1, 2013 was another milestone in strengthening already excellent relations. Since the introduction of the Swiss Civil Code and the Swiss Code of Obligations in Turkey by Kemal Atatürk, the founding father of modern Turkey, the private law systems of the two countries have developed in a similar direction. In fact, Turkish courts and legal scholars often refer to decisions rendered by the Swiss Federal Supreme Court when interpreting the law.
The Turkey focus group, comprising lawyers from various Homburger practice teams, covers all aspects of cross-border business activities with its expertise.
For many years, Homburger has been regularly advising clients on matters involving Swiss-Turkish legal issues.
