Homburger advises Bühler Group in the acquisition of Haas Group

 

On September 12, 2017, Bühler Group, Uzwil, Switzerland, announced that it signed agreements to acquire Haas Group, the Austrian world market leader of wafer, biscuits, and confectionery production systems. Financial terms of the transactions have not been disclosed. The closing of the acquisition is subject to the approval of the antitrust authorities.

Haas Group, a family-owned company, was set up in Vienna more than 100 years ago. In the middle of the last century, it began manufacturing wafer machinery and evolved over the following decades into a global leader in its field. Haas Group generates sales revenues of about EUR 300 m and operates its own manufacturing sites in 6 countries.

Bühler Group is a specialist and technology company for plant and equipment and related services for processing foods as well as manufacturing advanced materials. In 2016, Bühler Group had some 10'500 employees in over 140 countries and generated a turnover of CHF 2.5 bn. For Bühler Group, the strategic acquisition of Haas Group marks a milestone in the development of its Consumer Foods business.
